My painkiller addiction could have taken my life, but I got help and it didn’t. It didn’t really happen just like that, unfortunately. It actually took a lot longer to get to the point where I got help and all that jazz. It started when I got in a car accident a few years back. I sustained a great deal of painful injuries and the doctor thought that it would be a good idea to prescribe some painkiller medication to help me out. He was right because the pain was unbearable and I needed something. The problem was that I started needing more than what I had. It started when the dosages that I had been given started becoming inadequate to make the pain I was feeling bearable and I eventually started needing higher dosages. That’s where the problems started. I knew that there was definitely a problem developing and something had to be done. I tried to ween myself off of the pills, but I started feeling some of the signs of withdrawal. My wife and I finally decided to find a place that could give me help for my painkiller addiction and get me back on track. So, that’s what we did. We got me some help and here I stand a brand new man.

| Painkiller Addiction |
 |

Two years I was hooked on morphine. Two years I was lost in the Fog, in the Need. Two years I was a shell of myself, a victim of painkiller addiction, unable to think or care about anything besides my overwhelming desire to Use. Two years I was hooked on morphine. And truth be told, there wasn’t a damn thing I could do about it.
I tried quitting morphine on my own. Twice, actually. The first time I made it two weeks. The second time I made it two days. Anyone who tells you you can get clean on your own is either a liar or a fool. That’s just not the way painkiller addiction works, not the way addiction recovery happens. Two times I tried to quit morphine, and two times I failed. And then I get help…professional painkiller addiction treatment…and it made a world of difference.
Drug treatment saved my life, if you really want to know. Saved me from Myself, from my Need; dragged me out of the Fog once and for all. Without morphine treatment, I wouldn’t be here, today, writing this. Without morphine treatment, I wouldn’t be here telling you that drug rehab really can work, provided you give it a chance. For your own sake, don’t wait another day to take me at my word.

| Demerol drug addiction |
 |
Nobody ever talks about Demerol addicts. Demerol isn’t a sexy drug, like cocaine or ecstasy. It isn’t a sensationalized drug, like heroin or crack. It’s just Demerol. And Demerol addicts are just Demerol addicts. Nothing to see here; no headlines worthy of the 6 o’clock news.
Unless, of course, Demerol addiction happens to you.
Demerol is no less dangerous than any other addictive substance. Demerol addicts are in no less dire straights than crackheads, or heroin junkies. Demerol addiction, like all forms of addiction, turns individuals into shells of their former selves, leaves them utterly incapable of relating to anything other than their need to use. Demerol abuse, simply put, ruins lives. And pretending that it doesn’t…just ignoring the problem…damn well won’t make it go away.
The good news is that drug treatment can help you get better. But here’s the thing: You’ve got to seek it out first. No Demerol treatment center in the world can do anything for you until you walk through its front door. Please, for you own sake, let today be the day you make the right decision. With so much to lose, and so much more to win, you can’t afford to do anything else.
